Yes, those very same ones... I passed part one of the A+... I would have passed it pretty fast but a car accident shook me pretty bad and jolted my learning curve out of the window for a few weeks after. The thing I found hard was learning all the names for everything.. I knew what every part did and why but In all my time playing with pc's I never knew any of the parts correct names for example an RJ 45 I just called a modem or LAN cable nto and RJ 45 lol just little things like that.. and chip types.. LGA, OLGA and them things.. I was well chuffed when I passed BUT.. The way they get you to pass is like cheating.. They MADE YOU sit through TEST KING pages till you got a 90% mark and more than enough TEST KING Questions were in the exam to pass so you didnt even need to sit on your own for hours just watching CD Rom after CD Rom :/ The way they taught you at that college stank... They charge you X ammount for learning tools which was infact a bunch of cd roms and a book and that was it.. The CD Roms were copies of 1 original and thats all you had... read the book watch the CD's.. and about 3 or 4 if you were lucky practical hands on lessons of which most of the time youy were alone to do them, no tutors or anything.

My conclusion... have it out and leave. I tried to get a re-embursement but they refused maintaining they had to buy sourse materials.. hahahahaha.. yeah they had to get me 1 book and copy a disc for me.. so I figure they owe me the rest back but they wont budge and like a dumbass I am.. in the contract it states no refunds Frowning

Quoting Micky-D:
What IT courses where you doing man? Was it the A+ N+ and MCSA?

I was doing those but the college I was at sucked A*S.. 3 grand and it was basically sit in front of this CD Rom and get on with it...

In the end I walked... I spoke to an Pc engineer about 4 weeks later who told me the A+ is total pants and isnt worth the bother... Things change so fast and CompTIA doesnt keep up its totally pointless... that and a if you can do the stuff you dont need a certificate.

Who needs college.. loool... we got Google.. the world in a box... the biggest library on the planet and you dont get charged for overdue ebooks.. looooooooooooooooooool

Good luck with what ever you do man!

I was just on some shit AGCE course, I didn't have to pay because I was under 19 and it wouldn't of been much anyhow, only a couple of hundred quid.

I totally agree with you about certificates. For web design (what I want to do), you don't need anything. Just a good portfolio and some experience and thats it. As long as you have Google you can learn anything that could from college. Lots cheaper to, which is always nice. Big Grin

I'm much better at learning things by myself than doing courses that are full of bullshit units that no one needs. I got taught about business, home technology and a load of other crap I didn't need to learn. We used Windows ME PCs most of the time! I'm only bothered that I failed because my friends are going on to the next year and I cant. Oh well, at least I wont have to sit through another year of that shit. I heard 5 of the lecturers I had are getting fired for this year, probably because none had a clue what was going on. About time too, we've been complaining about one of them for the last three years.

Good luck to you to man. Smiling

Hey, Thanks for the comments. Yeah I got my name when I used to do alot of dj'ing / audio editing.. which I still do, but not so often these days. I got into it a few years back with a friend.. mostly using products like acid to rework popular tracks and tunes. Great fun.. even got a peice of work reviewed by a popular UK DJ.. Judge Jules From Radio 1 which pleased us lol.
